Infant Home Visiting
Our Infant Home Visiting program serves young children from prenatal to age four and their parents who may be struggling with the natural difficulties of becoming new parents. We believe that all parents want the best for their children and can benefit from support and encouragement while helping their children grow and succeed.
What is the Infant Home Visiting program?
Our Infant Home Visiting program: Healthy Families acknowledges that no one is ever a perfect parent; our trained home visitors provide support to parents and caregivers to help foster healthy development and quality relationships. Our supervised home visits focus on strengths and relationship-building to encourage and support each family in its own, unique growth.
How does it work?
The Healthy Families Program is part of the Hennepin Alliance for Healthy Families and is designed for parents and families who are impacted by significant stressors. Services provided respond to the needs of each family individually and can include:
- Emotional support for parents/caregivers
- Education about child development and developmental expectations
- Insight into the impact of parent/child relationships
- Referrals to community resources and advocacy to ensure access to resources.
When can I enroll?
Families can enroll in either program prenatally or up until their child is three months of age. Both programs are voluntary and free to participants.
How long does it last?
The Healthy Families program goes until the child is four years old.
*Healthy Families is supported in part by the Minnesota Department of Human Services Strong Foundations Grant.
