What makes Youable Emotional Health different from other mental health providers?
We offer a wide breadth of services in a team environment, focusing not only on diagnosable mental illnesses but also on developing a solid emotional base. Practically speaking, that means that you have our entire organization of therapists and mental health workers working together, recommending internal programs, to give you the best, individualized care for your needs. For example, you may begin with us via your child's school-based therapist and, at their recommendation, transition to outpatient therapy with case management support.
What's the difference between your locations?
Richfield and Brooklyn Center are where our resident therapists spend most of their time. Brooklyn Center and Hopkins are where our Day Treatment programs are housed.
What are your hours of business?
In Richfield and Brooklyn Center Outpatient, our hours are generally from 8 am to 8 pm, with a few exceptions.
In Hopkins and Brooklyn Center Day treatment, our programming runs from 8 am – 3 pm. Hopkins and Brooklyn Center therapists do offer individual and family sessions outside of these hours. Please call to determine when your provider is available.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Availability varies depending on the location and the services you need, but we typically see new clients within two weeks of first reaching out to us.
What should I expect on my first visit?
We’ve streamlined our intake process and taken away the typical introductory packet of personal questions. Instead, at your first appointment – called a diagnostic assessment or DA – a therapist will talk with you about why you want to begin therapy. After that, they’ll make a recommendation for which of our therapists will be best suited for you and your needs, and our new client experience team will schedule your regular appointments with them.
What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
Please call the front desk at your location as soon as possible.
How can I contact a specific location?

What insurance do you accept?
We work with all insurances in Minnesota, though your co-pay may be higher if we are out of network. We are in-network for the following insurances:
Aetna, BHP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Life Synch, Medicare, MN Medical Assistance, Preferred One, TriCare, UBH (Medica), United Healthcare.
My insurance doesn’t cover mental or emotional health therapy/my insurance premium is too high for me to afford therapy/I don’t have insurance. Can you still help me?
Yes! We want everyone to be emotionally and mentally healthy regardless of their insurance or income, so we have a sliding-scale option for those who qualify. Our staff will help you set that up.
I have a question about my bill.
We bill insurance for our services and have a sliding fee option for those who qualify. If you have a question about your bill, we're happy to help. Just contact our billing department at Youable.health.billing@tnthbs.com or by calling 651-352-6357.
Are Youable client records protected by HIPAA privacy protection?
Yes. Like any health care organization, we are subject to and respect the privacy protection regulations under HIPAA and other privacy laws and standards. If you have questions about this, please see the Notice of Privacy Practices you received at intake or speak with your therapist.
What if I need to see my medical records, need them released, or need them sent to another organization?
You are welcome to review your records. Simply talk to your therapist about this process. If you want to see your child's records, please call the front desk at 612-861-1675 to speak to the clinical director about your specific situation.
To have your records sent somewhere else, please come into one of our locations and complete a Release of Information Form at the front desk - we'll help you fill it out. After submitting the form, it may take up to 10 days for the other organization to receive your records.
There is no fee for us to release your records.
I’ve heard of Youable in relation to Hennepin County. Do you work with them?
We do. For more information about what we do with the county, see Youable In The Community at the very bottom of this page.
I've heard you do school-based therapy. Do you have a therapist at my child's school?
We currently have therapists in School District 11 (Anoka-Hennepin), District 191 (Burnsville-Eagan-Savage), and District 197 (West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan). Our school-based presence changes every school year, so the fastest way to find out if your child's school has a therapist is to contact the school directly. If they aren't sure, or if they're not sure what provider the therapist is associated with, you can contact our school-based therapy team at schoolbasedsupport@youable.health.
How are you funded?
While we bill insurance for many of our services, some specialty services are funded through contracts with counties, school districts, or other sources.
Do you fundraise?
We do: As a 501(c)(3) Charitable Nonprofit, donations to support Youable are tax-deductible. Funds raised support the many services we provide to those unable to cover 100% of the cost. Youable provides over $700,000 in charity care annually.
