Hannah Moczynski, LGSW - Dual Setting Therapist
A Little About Hannah:
Hello! I help people navigate the environments and communities they find belonging in. I take race, culture, gender identity, abilities, economic status, societal expectations into consideration and explore ways to empower a person to live a free, ambitious life despite the “boxes” society puts people in. My background as a mental health professional is rooted in decolonizing mental health treatment, meaning, I hold space to allow a person to find healing and deeper meaning to their roots, rather than working towards how to fit into a certain box society expects you to be in. I work alongside a person to help them find relief and deeper meaning/connection to themselves. I always aim for my clients to have a renewed sense of self when working together. Whether you have been in therapy your whole life, or just starting your journey, you can expect authenticity, empathy, patience, and thoughtfulness mixed in with a little bit of humor when working together. Trusting someone with your deep thoughts is a process that I take seriously. While you will be met with warmth and empowerment, there will also be a level of accountability and challenges to grow the confidence within yourself.
I have experience working with evidenced-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Feminist Focused Therapy (which is focused on empowerment, collaboration, intersectionality, and social justice factors when developing and reclaiming self-identity and agency), solutions-focused, strength-based, multi-cultural, family systems, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing. These interventions are based on the person and are modified to be culturally-appropriate.
While I have experience working with people as young as 7-years-old, I love working with people in their early teen years all the way to adulthood. Currently I split my time at Youable between Outpatient services and our Day Treatment program. I have experience and get excited when working with complex concerns and systems, depression, significant anxiety, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation/attempts, shame, guilt, overthinking, social anxiety, self-esteem, body image, anger/irritability, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship conflicts, mood swings and managing high stress.
In my free time I am passionate about thrifting, going to garage sales, and have a talent for finding the best deal on something. Outside of shopping, I like reading, doing crafts, spending time with my dog, being active and being in nature.
