We are deeply saddened by the devastating news of the shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in South Minneapolis this morning. Our hearts are with the students, families, teachers, and community members who have been directly impacted by this event.
As mental health professionals, we all know that such events can impact individuals far beyond those directly involved. It is normal to feel many emotions following tragedies: grief, anger, fear, helplessness.
Our clients may be deeply affected. For some, this may bring up past trauma, feelings of fear and insecurity, or anxiety about their own safety and that of their loved ones. Our clients look to us for understanding and care during times when the world feels uncertain.
