Rachael Gjerdingen, MSW, LGSW

Rachael joined the Day Treatment team as Therapist in April 2026.  She has experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, legal commitments, substance use disorders, and with neurodivergent individuals, and has competencies in community resources, harm reduction, and neurodivergent mental health.  In her work with clients, she uses unconditional compassion while letting her clients lead the way.  She uses a client-centered and biopsychosocial-cultural-spiritual approach, believing that the client is the expert of their own life and that each client deserves individualized treatment based on their unique background.  She aims to help clients improve emotional regulation, develop effective coping strategies, advocate for their needs, build on their strengths, and improve interpersonal functioning.

When she is not working, Rachael enjoys traveling, exercising, hiking, baking, and cooking.
